Yuba County Amphitheatre Gets New Name

AutoWest Sponsors Amphitheatre

Management for the entertainment amphitheatre in Yuba County announced a new name for the venue which is entering its third concert season, and released some of the artists who will be performing in 2002. Amphitheatre Executive Director Steve Feener stated that a five-year sponsorship contract with AutoWest has secured the naming rights to newly named “AutoWest Amphitheatre” through 2006.

Feener stated that a number of performers had secured dates at the Autowest Amphitheatre in 2002 including the Dave Matthews Band, Brooks & Dunn Neon Circus, Ozzfest, The Who, Lenny Kravitz, and country star Kenny Chesney. Shows may begin as early as April this year. The Amphitheatre has hosted 44 events over its two year history with nearly half a million concert-goers. Ticket sales increased 40% in 2001 over its inaugural year sales.

AutoWest is part of the AutoNation Company and operates 18 dealerships in Roseville and the Bay Area. Clear Channel, Inc., the half-time sponsor of Superbowl 36, acquired amphitheatre owner SFX in 2001. AutoWest Amphitheatre was formerly known as the Sacramento Valley Amphitheatre.
