New Yuba County Logo Rolls Around Yuba-Sutter
"Build Your Future in Yuba County"

“It’s like seeing your work put on the big screen,” comments Economic Development Coordinator John Fleming when he saw the new six-foot tall Yuba County logo on the side of a Mathews Ready Mix cement truck for the first time. “It’s absolutely beautiful.”

Fleming set out in late 2000 to create a marketing theme and branding logo to be used for Yuba County marketing material, a web site, print advertising, and similar marketing projects. “An advertising sub-committee of local public relations professionals was instrumental in guiding the creative process of designing this logo,” says Fleming. “It’s an excellent time to be promoting what Yuba County and the region can offer businesses due to Forbes Magazine’s recent ranking of the Yuba-Sutter Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) as the top rural “Best Place to do Business” in California and 10th nationwide.”

“Mathews Ready Mix is a community-minded company that jumped at the opportunity to place Yuba County’s logo on one of our cement trucks,” states Steve Gilliss, Mathews manager and Yuba-Sutter Builders and Developers Association President. The theme is Build Your Future in Yuba County, and it’s complimentary to our company’s construction-oriented employment base and mobile equipment.” Gilliss serves on the Yuba County Marketing Committee and found the new full-color logo to be an attractive addition to a company-owned truck.

Mary Hansen, Yuba County Airport Manager and Yuba-Sutter Enterprise Zone Director, coordinated the funding for the new logo through Job Creation Investment Funds (JCIF). Deb Biladeau designed the logo.
