Yuba County Marketing Material
Program Approved

Properties Around Motorplex Targeted for Promotion

An aggressive marketing material campaign was considered by the Yuba County Board of Supervisors and an agreement was signed with the A-D Agency to create the material February 27, 2001. The A-D Agency competed with other public relations organizations in a Request for Professional (RFP) Services process that the County’s Economic Development Coordinator John Fleming initiated in 2,000. The A-D Agency was the apparent low bidder and negotiated the final contract with the County.

“This marketing campaign will consist of a 12-fold map brochure and five real estate flyers that highlight the benefits associated with the Yuba County Airport, Motorplex, Rancho Road Industrial Park, Plumas Lake Specific Plan, and Research and Development Park,” said Fleming. The project cost is $14,000 that also includes placing the material on the Internet at www.yubacounty.org.  Much of the cost will be underwritten by sponsors who will receive space on the map brochure.

“It’s a significant and collaborative effort,” says Fleming. “It’s a pleasure to participate in this process with organizations that see the value in promoting Yuba County’s land for the highest and best use.” The sponsors for this marketing campaign include the Regional Career Center (RCC), the Airport and Enterprise Zone, the Health and Human Services (HHS) Department, and the Small Business Development Center (SBDC).

The County’s general fund share of the project will not exceed $5,510, although Fleming is confident that he can identify additional partners who will be interested in participating in the marketing campaign. The project should take about two months to complete and then will be made available to developers and real estate professionals for consideration. Economic development staff will also target trade shows and conferences to promote Yuba County’s central proximity and low cost business benefits.
